Feb 26 - Our Grand Fan Master Richard Tucholka has been hospitalized since last week, and awaits bypass surgery! Last we spoke with him he was a little nervous, but of course he has a galaxy of friends and we all hope for a speedy but uncomplicated recovery. Post well-wishes here, everybody…

Rich:
I’ve been sick almost all day Sunday and should have called … now I’m ‘worried sick’. Get better real soon but take it easy. Your cars will be watched over dilligently by your army of elves here in Pontiac.
With hopes for a full and peaceful recovery,
You are in my prayers. Get well SOON!
Richard,
Get well. Remember, at this point a bypass is almost like doing an automotive valve job.
Cheers,
-Flex
Get well soon.
Richard,
I hope you have a full, easy and speedy recovery. You’re in our thoughts here up north. Feel free to pass word through Freon if there is anything you need that we can help with.

Hey, no more of this now…we want a healthy, happy Richard around for a long time.
Many good thoughts & much healing energy from the whole family….
Our family wishes you the best of outcomes and will be thinking about you during surgery and your recovery. Take it easy and try not to do too much too fast.
Hey Richard,
I hope you get well soon. I first met you in the 80’s at Novi Thunderhead Gaming Society. Recall playing your first games at Nova Con in Rochester and at the Weekend Gaming events held off of Grand River and at Novi Libary and Farmington Hills Libary.

Look forward to seeing you back sacked out in the dealers room.
Get well soon.
Get well soon Richard!
You are a Michigan SF fandom institution and we need you back.
I hope everything goes well, but you’ll be fine. Take the time off to relax. Best Wishes.

Relax, try not to worry and know the hospital folks will take good care of you. Then please take it slow and easy for a while, so we can see you soon.. You’ll be in my thoughts
Get Well Soon.
Get well soon, all will go swimmingly.

What’s with all this laying about? You’re not allowed to hide in a hospital! Who are we going to tease?

Hurry up and get well so the universe can return to normal!!
Best wishes, behave yourself, get well soon, & tell me when I can come cook for you! Hugs from Lynne (Bill too)
IT’S WORKING! IT’S WORKING!

David Stein via Jess sez Rich is OUT of surgery and in ICU, zonked and recovering from 4x bypass.
“The scarring tells them that he has had several smaller heart
attacks lately.
But everything is looking good.”
Keep up the good feelings, everyone.
Sheesh, some people will do anything to claim a vacation….
No, I know you don’t wish for the surgery or long recovery. I’m sorry you are so ill but very happy that it sounds like you’re doing well!
NOW will you take care of yourself?? Don’t MAKE me come up there & drag your a** down to Florida to convalesce! (Hmmm, maybe that isn’t as fierce a threat as I intended.)
I love you Richard. Keep yourself well, take some of these nice folks up on offers to help while you’re healing, & remember we’ve got a futon with hot & cold running cats if you want to recover in the sun. (We’re about an hour from Daytona Beach–your heart should be up for it by Spring Break season….
Pastor Gil said that a thunderous shout went up to heaven and the glory came down. Any supplemental laying on of hands is available upon request.
Get better soon, Rich.
Get well soon, Richard, or ELSE! I am thinking of you.

Well, sounds like the operation went well. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery, Richard. We’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Please get better, Richard! We’re worried about you, praying for you, and getting our fingers all cramped up keeping them crossed for you! Get better soon, okay? Please?
Hope you are feeling better and the surgery does the trick.Remember you have an open invitation for a stay in Florida when you get the chance.
Get Well Soon,
Mike Mize
Get better soon! There’s lots of bad movies waiting for you (did you see any of the oscar nominees???). Someone needs to flay them like only you can. Debbie
After MY recent hospital stay, I wouldn’t wish one on anyone– but I’ll admit that it SURE beats the alternatives…
Good luck, man. Marla and I are pulling for you. Speedy/smooth recovery to ya!
Feel better - real quick!
Hey get well!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you. It’s been way too long since I saw you last. Hugs!!!

Well, it sounds like the surgery went good. I hope that you get well soon, so i can wave money for games at you soon, you are in my thoughts and good feelings, get well soon, Tohookie.
Richard!!! I want to come over there and hug you. And then beat you over the head. You wouldn’t let me sulk last year when I was sick, so we expect you to get well, too. More hugs from Mercury and Laura, too. The squirt says to tell Uncle Richard that she’s doing the rocks and fossils week this summer at day camp, and she wants you around so she can tell you all about it.
With love,
Lisa
Lots and lots of GoodThoughts to you for a minimal-pain recovery.
Fighter: “Ah-CHOO!”
Priest: “Bless you.”
Ranger: “Dang it! You waste more spells that way..!”
Prayers are with you. Get well soon!
*hugs* and good luck, and wishes for the type of recovery that makes for really boring chart reading. (:
Good Luck, Richard. Take it easy, and think of all those books you never have a chance to read that you can now indulge in for a while.

Tom Dow posted earlier today:
“I just talked to Karen. Richard’s recovery is going well. He’s awake
and off the ventilator. Still in the ICU, and he will most likely be
moving to a separate room on Thursday.
No visitors while he is in the ICU, as per Richard’s request. Karen
has passed along everybody’s well wishes.
Tom”
You guys all rock, you know that.

**Please pass on this info to all groups that are
affiliated with Richard**
Mam and I just left the hospital a little bit ago and
I just wanted to let you all know that Richard is
doing *just* fine.
I was there from about 1 pm til about 7 and he didn’t
have any problems or bad things occur. He had gotten
out of bed at noon! *happy claps* He has been
breathing into the tester breath thingy of doom at
about a 600 and they were hoping for near 1000, but
are unconcerned even though he isn’t that high up
there. He finds that the plural chest tube is causing
him pain, but things are proceeding well and that
should be taken out by tomorrow.
He ate his first bit of food since Sunday night today
at about 2:30 pm (Yay cottage cheese!) and some Sprite
to wash it down with. Aside from the bubbly action
from the sprite giving him a few inner bubbly
feelings, he didn’t have any complications after
eating. He was ordering his dinner just as we were
leaving.
As per the nurse ending her shift with us today -
Richard will more than likely stay in the ICU again
tonight, with a high possibility that he will be put
into a normal room tomorrow.
Even though Richard is still not quite ready for
visitors, he was pleased to hear about all the well
wishes, and I will hopefully be able to bring him the
guest book signings tomorrow morning when I go to
visit him again. So, get to signing if you haven’t!
Jessica
WoooHooo! Richard got through the surgery and is getting better a little faster then expected, that is so good to hear, Get well soon, Big Richard or else “The flying kitties of doom will be at your door.”
Hey Richard!
On your feet, soldier! I trust you’re enjoying the new plumbing, and hope you’ll be feeling up to Penguicon. Get well soon!
~Davroz
Get well soon! Sorry I always seem to be the last to hear about these things… Curse Einstien and his immovable speed of light!
Richard, Get well soon! Paul’s not the last to hear about these things. He then passes them on to me : )
I hope you’re feeling better. John, William and I have been keeping the Incursion project alive and we hope to hear from you in the near future. Keep us updated about your health. The way the grapevine is working it may be faster to use Snail Mail : )
Michael
Hi Richard!
Hope you are up and about soon! Get well and get gaming!
