Tour de Nocturne III : Urban Mardi Gras

Conclave 32 welcomes PinataRiders!

Magic or monster, you can spend your ‘French Quarters’ here. Get into the Mardi Gras spirit and welcome our talented costumers onstage for all to see and appreciate. All Costumers are welcome to compete at our Masquerade, but preparation is necessary.

Visit their website to see the Rules, then drop in on our Saturday Morning Q&A session if you’re new to competition. Otherwise, feel free to ask us about it now.

Masquerade MC Thomas SHARK Jones is bringing his talents back to our stage to enliven the contest this year. You may recall his antics as host of ConTraption’s contests.

Time to costume, party and have fun!!!

ConClave 1999

Hey, you’re still reading!   Great!   I’m flattered.Well, if you didn’t hear, the Piñata Riders made their presence inarguably known as the returning champions of low-buck costuming last October in Lansing, with a quartet of Martian invaders a la MARS ATTACKS, which we paraded around at blaster-point to the relief of all those fans we spared.   Joe managed to get the leader, and after a victory march, the aliens were shipped off to do our dishes at home until the next taxi comes in bound for Mars.   Sorry, NASA, they have a bit of a confidence problem with the national brands, at this point. If  this got printed decently, you’ll be able to see a photo of these little demons on the worktable, and also in action at the Con.   If not, well, you can either go on faith or visit the website.

At Conclave I managed to find a home for around fifty copies of the Clave edition of the Rag, which featured adhesives tips and a few other nicknacks, and I also did not have to try too hard to get Rich Tucholka to adopt one of the Martians.  I’m sure he’s well fed and watered.
